2pm: Wagner’s three-month stay in Russia in early 1863 by Alan Whelan Alan looked at the influence of the visit on Russian musical performance and on Russian composers of the period and afterwards, & also the influence of Russia on Wagner, illustrating his talk with musical examples.

2pm: Warwick Fyfe – his study tour in Europe last November as the 2007 Bayreuth Scholar, and his experiences around the role of Wolfram in the 2007 revival of the Elke Neidhardt production of Tannhäuser by Opera Australia.

2pm: Glenn Winslade – Life in Bayreuth from a singer’s viewpoint, where he sang the title role in Tannhäuser in 2002 and 2003.
