Eugene Raggio as Wotan, Charis Peden as Fricka in Act 2 of Die Walküre at the Berlin Wagner Gruppe, 14 April 2019

Australian bass baritone Eugene Raggio, who is supported by the Wagner Society, will be performing Wotan in the first of the Ring Cycle operas under the baton of Byron Knutson this August in Berlin.

Eugene has advised:  I have been keenly encouraged by the staff and faculty of the Berlin Dramatic Voices Program with whom I'll be guided throughout this project and with whom I will be undertaking a Lieder residency.  I am also greatly encouraged by the support of the Wagner Society of New South Wales who, together with the dramatic voices program Berlin, have made this exciting and unprecedented opportunity possible.  Special shout out to Prof Claudia Visca, Dr David Kram, Leona Geeves, Julie Wyma, Anastasia Nikolov and Byron for getting behind this!
